Alaskan Road Truckers

Alaskan Road Truckers launched on October 18, 2023 and has received steady post-launch support: the free Ice Roads Expansion (December 14, 2023), two cosmetic skin packs (June 28, 2024 and December 19, 2024), multiple quality-of-life and bug-fix patches, and a free new truck added on June 19, 2026. On December 12, 2024, publisher Green Man Gaming Publishing published a formal roadmap ("Roadmap 1") committing to a mix of future premium and free content. The centerpiece was an expansion called "Showrunner," which was listed on the Steam store and described as a "larger content drop" for fans of trucking and movies. The roadmap promised full details on Showrunner would be revealed in February 2025. That promised February 2025 reveal never materialized publicly, and Showrunner still has no release date as of today, September 17, 2026. The most recent developer post, dated September 17, 2026, announces an open beta for a separate new game called Road Truckers: New Beginning. The developer acknowledges they have been "updating Alaskan Road Truckers whenever we could" — phrasing that suggests the studio's primary attention has shifted to the new title. The post does not mention Showrunner or the Alaskan Road Truckers roadmap at all. The game continues to receive occasional maintenance patches (the most recent bug-fix patch was September 12, 2025, and an optimization patch followed on December 5, 2025), and a free truck was added as recently as June 19, 2026. However, the Showrunner expansion — a named, store-listed DLC commitment — has had no public update in over 21 months, and the studio's focus appears to have shifted toward a new game. The status of that specific content commitment is genuinely uncertain.
