Allods Online is a long-running free-to-play MMO that has been actively developed for many years. The game features recurring seasonal content, PvP seasons with regular resets, rotating world events, and annual major updates — all hallmarks of a live online service designed to run indefinitely. The developer shipped major content updates on a roughly annual cadence through this Steam channel: Update 14.0 "Call of Legends" (December 1, 2022), Update 14.1 with the Amber Astral layer (April 27, 2023), and Update 15.0 "Capital of Shadows" (November 30, 2023). Roadmaps were published in February 2023 and August 2023 outlining planned content for the following seasons. However, on January 11, 2024, the developer posted a notice that the game would be leaving Steam around January 30, 2024, and instructed players to migrate their accounts to the VK Play launcher. Since that announcement, no further developer communications have appeared on Steam. The game remains listed and purchasable on Steam, but the developer has clearly shifted its primary distribution and communication to VK Play. In September 2022, the developer also addressed a corporate restructuring (MY.GAMES separating from VK), confirming at the time that it would not affect the game. Because the developer migrated to a different platform, it is not possible to evaluate ongoing development activity through Steam. The game almost certainly continues as a live online service on VK Play, but the Steam-visible record ends with the January 2024 migration notice.
