Evaluation
Among Us launched in November 2018 and has been receiving continuous major content updates ever since. Innersloth has maintained a strong and consistent development pace, adding new maps, game modes, roles, and cosmetics across dozens of updates over the years.
The most recent major update — v18.0.0, introducing the Judge role — shipped on August 18, 2026. This followed the v17.0.0 update (September 9, 2025), which introduced the Detective and Viper roles.
On August 1, 2026, Innersloth published the second part of their 2026 roadmap, explicitly confirming two new roles planned for the year — one arriving "just next month" (fulfilled by the Judge on August 18) and a second still undelivered. The roadmap also promises new Cosmicubes and additional brand collaborations before the end of 2026.
A June 22, 2026 developer post directly stated: "Among Us is still expanding with features, roles, bug updates, improved security, etc." A separate spin-off narrative game, Among Us Story: On Guard, was announced and demoed in June 2026, with the full game still in development — further confirming Innersloth's ongoing investment in the Among Us universe.
There is at least one more new role, additional Cosmicubes, and further collaborations explicitly confirmed as coming in 2026.
Evidence
v18.0.0 ships the new Judge crewmate role, confirming the first of two promised 2026 roles has been delivered. One more role remains on the roadmap.
2026 Part 2 roadmap confirms two new roles planned for the remainder of the year, new Cosmicubes, and additional collaborations. One role arrives 'just next month' (fulfilled by the Judge on August 18), with a second still unannounced.
