Angels & Demigods launched on September 28, 2016 as a free-to-play VR visual novel containing Chapter 1 of the story. At launch, the developer announced a Kickstarter campaign to fund additional chapters, which were to be sold as DLC. The store description still references this Kickstarter campaign. However, all developer communication stops on September 29, 2016 — the day after launch. There is no evidence that the Kickstarter was successfully funded, and no additional chapters or DLC have ever been released. The game has received no updates, patches, or developer communications of any kind since September 2016. Given nearly a decade of complete silence and no DLC ever materializing, the game effectively launched and concluded as a single chapter. It is best understood as a complete, standalone release in the state it shipped in 2016.

Travel with us into the distant future in which man plays god by creating angels to protect him. Immerse yourself in an alien world and discover why you were woken up after a long slumber. Meet friends and foes, discover their objectives and most importantly try to stay alive. Angels & Demigods is an atmospheric sci-fi visual novel being brought to you in VR. It is a story and dialogue centered game in which you create your own adventure by carefully choosing what you say and do.

The story takes place in the distant future on Saturn's moon Enceladus in the 190th century. You are given a task to bring back Ashley - a genetically engineered warrior "angel" who has fled the facility where she was being held in a dormant state. Through the interaction with her and other characters you unravel bits and pieces of a conspiracy.
This is a story centered game and you interact with characters by selecting choices that alter how you interact with them. You will also be prompted to interact with the environment at some points to be able to progress further.
