Evaluation
Anima: Gate of Memories – The Nameless Chronicles launched on June 19, 2018 as a standalone story-driven action RPG. Post-launch developer activity was limited to a handful of bug fix patches in the weeks following release, with no DLC, expansions, or post-launch content updates ever released for this title. The game shipped as a complete, self-contained product.
The developer's subsequent communications have been focused entirely on other projects: a remaster bundling this game alongside its predecessor (Anima: Gate of Memories I & II Remaster, released November 7, 2025), and a new entry in the series, Anima: Song from the Abyss, announced for a 2027 launch. The remaster is a separate product on Steam, not an update to this game. Bug fix patches accompanying the remaster announcements (June 2025, November 2025) were applied to this game's existing version for stability, but introduced no new content.
There is no DLC listed for this title, no roadmap or promises of future content were ever made, and the developer has not indicated any intention to add content to this specific game. The game launched complete and has remained so.
Evidence
Developer announced the release of a separate remaster product (Anima: Gate of Memories I & II Remaster) that rebuilds both this game and its predecessor from the ground up as a new Steam title, accompanied by minor bug fixes applied to the existing game version.
Developer revealed the I & II Remaster as a new standalone product, confirming that the remaster is a separate release rather than an update to the original game.
