Evaluation
Anno 2205 launched on November 2, 2015 and received a Season Pass covering three paid DLC expansions: Tundra (February 29, 2016), Orbit (July 20, 2016), and Frontiers (October 4, 2016). All four items in the DLC list — including the Season Pass itself — have been released and shipped.
The developer posted a statement at Gamescom in August 2016 indicating Anno 2205 was "not finished yet," but that statement was made before the final DLC, Frontiers, shipped on October 4, 2016. The Frontiers DLC fulfilled the Season Pass, completing all announced content commitments. Following Frontiers, the only developer activity has been maintenance patches: a bug fix in October 2016, a compatibility patch in October 2018, and a connect client update in April 2023 — none of which introduce new game content.
With all Season Pass content delivered, no unreleased DLC on the store, and no developer statements announcing additional content after October 2016, the game's content development concluded with the Frontiers DLC release. The subsequent years of only occasional maintenance patches reinforce this picture. Anno 117: Pax Romana, announced in June 2025, is a separate new entry in the Anno franchise and does not represent continued development for Anno 2205.
