Ant Queen

Ant Queen launched on June 17, 2016 and received a series of feature patches and updates through late 2016, adding sandbox mode, new ant types, and gameplay improvements. In December 2016, the developer announced they were stepping away from active Ant Queen development to work on a new multiplayer project called Aetherios, and planned a full 3D rebuild of Ant Queen afterward. The developer followed through: news posts from 2017 document development of the new 3D version (referred to at the time as an alpha), and on May 27, 2019, the developer announced that this rebuilt game — AntQueen 3D — had launched as a separate title on Steam. This effectively marks the point at which development effort fully transitioned away from the original Ant Queen. There have been no developer communications about the original Ant Queen since that May 2019 announcement, no unreleased DLC listed, and no roadmap or future content promises for this title. The original game launched as a complete product and the developer's own post-launch statement confirms development concluded and moved to the successor title. The game is complete.
