Evaluation
Ants Took My Eyeball launched on April 19, 2024 and has received a consistent stream of major content updates: v1.4.0 (May 1, 2024), v1.5.0 (May 8, 2024), v1.6.0 (May 26, 2024), v1.7.0 (November 29, 2024), v1.7.1 (December 19, 2024), v1.8.0 (February 10, 2025), and v1.9.0 (April 20, 2025). This establishes a clear pattern of major content drops roughly every 1–6 months across the game's first year.
On the game's first anniversary (April 20, 2025), the developer explicitly stated that a bigger update is currently in development — one that will "add much more variety to the main gameplay, as well as more difficult end game content" — and teased "other big news coming soon." The February 10, 2025 update had similarly flagged a major upcoming release with new areas and enemies.
The last developer communication of any kind was a small bug fix post on June 9, 2025. As of October 1, 2026, that is over 15 months of complete silence. The promised large update and the teased big news have not been announced or delivered in that time. Given that major content had previously arrived every few months, this extended silence — without any explanation from the developer — means there is real uncertainty about whether the promised content is still coming.
