Evaluation
かぞえ飯 is a small, self-contained indie simulation game released on August 3, 2023, in which players count grains of rice in a bowl. The game launched with three difficulty modes and received a steady stream of bug fix and feature patches throughout August 2023, addressing issues with achievements, save functionality, GPU load, and adding quality-of-life improvements such as English language support and rice rotation controls.
On November 11, 2023, the developer shipped version 1.1.0 — the game's one notable content update — which added several new modes (Skill Prohibit Mode, One-Shot Correct Answer Mode, and Colorful Mode), volume and screen settings, desk color customization, and additional background music. This represents the most substantial expansion of the game's content since launch.
Since November 11, 2023, there have been no further developer communications of any kind — no patches, announcements, or development updates. Given the game's nature as a simple, self-contained experience with no DLC listed, no season pass, no roadmap, and no stated plans for future content, the 1.1.0 update appears to represent the completion of the game's post-launch development. The developer has not announced any additional content, and the extended silence since November 2023 is consistent with a finished product.
Evidence
Version 1.1.0 shipped three new gameplay modes (Skill Prohibit, One-Shot Correct Answer, Colorful Mode), settings options, desk color customization, and new background music tracks — the largest content update since launch.
English language support added alongside UI fixes and mode selection reordering.
