Arcade Spirits is a self-contained romantic visual novel that launched on February 12, 2019. Its two DLC items — a soundtrack and an artbook — both released on launch day, meaning no post-launch content was ever sold separately. The game received several patches in 2019 (versions 1.02, 1.4, and 1.5) focused on bug fixes, accessibility improvements, and minor feature additions, and a 2.0 polish pass in March 2021, but none of these introduced new story content.
The developer's post-launch communications centered entirely on a standalone sequel, Arcade Shirts: The New Challengers, which launched on May 27, 2022. A March 2023 announcement introduced yet another new game from the studio (Penny Larceny: Gig Economy Supervillain), confirming that Fiction Factory Games has moved on to new projects. No additional content for the original Arcade Spirits has been announced or hinted at since launch. The game shipped as a complete visual novel experience and has remained so.

After a turbulent work history, you are granted employment at the Funplex, a popular arcade, home to a host of unique personalities and customers. Where will this new-found employment take you? Who will you meet along the way? Will you find the romance you're seeking?

- Design your own character from the ground up - pronoun, hairstyle, skin tone, hair color, eye color and more are completely customizable and are reflected throughout the game in both gameplay and artwork!
- With roleplaying-based choices, you will be able to grow your personality and relationships in any way you desire; Friendship, Platonic or something more intimate! Work hard and build the relationship you desire with a total of seven romanceable characters!
- The Identity Identifier System, or IRIS, can track your relationship statuses with all characters throughout Arcade Spirits as well as your personality traits, from Quirky, Steady, and Kindly, to Gutsy and Basically.
- Everything you choose in Arcade Spirits, from your relationships to your personality, your crisis management moments, and a myriad other decision will have an effect on the future of your arcade!
