Evaluation
Ashes of the Union launched on July 23, 2024 and has received consistent post-launch development from 700 Games Studio. The game hit version 1.0 with PatchNote #9: Water Barriers on December 13, 2024, which added a new location, quests, and gear improvements.
Since then — and crucially since the previous evaluation flagged a potential development slowdown — the developer has returned to active updates in mid-2026. PatchNote #10: Bugs and Optimization (July 14, 2026) delivered crash fixes, optimization work, and UX improvements. A follow-up hotfix on July 15, 2026 added a brand-new scrap metal upgrade system, rebalanced several game mechanics, and fixed multiple bugs. A further hotfix on August 7, 2026 addressed aiming, crosshair display, and terrain loading.
This means the previous concern about extended developer silence has been resolved — the studio has resumed posting updates, with communications dated July 14, July 15, and August 7, 2026. No specific future content (DLC, named expansion, or roadmap) has been announced, but the developer continues to actively ship improvements and new systems. No developer statement has indicated that development is concluding.
Evidence
