Asterogues launched into version 1.0 on November 20, 2024 after a period in Early Access that included substantial updates — most notably the Earth Update on March 17, 2024 (which added a new playable character, new world, new items, and more) and an earlier major content patch in October 2023. At launch, the developer explicitly stated: "While this is 1.0, there is still a lot of content planned for the future, and I hope the game will continue to improve for a good while yet." This is a clear developer commitment to continued content additions beyond the 1.0 release. Post-launch activity backs this up: several patches shipped in late November and early December 2024, some adding new items, co-op improvements, and gameplay features. The developer has a demonstrated history of sustained, meaningful updates throughout Early Access and has signaled no intention of wrapping up content development.

Cast out by the Sun itself, each rebel must use their unique power along with the items and weapons they collect to beat their way to the center of the Solar System and get revenge. Across various zones, swarms of asteroids, aliens, and stars attempt to crush the rebellion - and only the most adept fighter stands a chance of avoiding their endless onslaught. And even then, the 8 planets stand vigilant over their territories, ready to destroy any tresspassers that dare to pass. Are you strong enough to deliver retribution?

Each character has their own bone to pick with the Sun, and their own special ability to turn enemies' bullets against them! Unlock and master each character!
