BABYLON'S FALL was a live-service cooperative action RPG developed by PlatinumGames and published by Square Enix. It launched on March 3, 2022, but struggled commercially — receiving very poor reviews (38% positive from 480 reviews).
On September 13, 2022, Square Enix officially announced that service would end on February 27–28, 2023, depending on region. At the same time, all sales of in-game currency and retail sales were halted immediately. The developer noted they would run final in-game events as a thank-you to remaining players.
A final update (Ver.1.3.0) was released on November 29, 2022, described explicitly as "the final update," adding a closing season event called "Finale." On February 28, 2023, the Version 1.4.0 patch notes marked the official "End of service."
The game is no longer available for purchase on Steam — no purchase options exist. BABYLON'S FALL has been fully shut down and delisted. The servers are offline, and the game is no longer accessible to anyone.
