Bacon May Die

Bacon May Die launched as a free-to-play game on April 15, 2021. At launch, the developer (a solo indie dev at SnoutUp) outlined a modest list of planned improvements — bug fixes, hitbox improvements, more achievements, co-op polishing, and Steam Workshop integration for outfits. Over the following year, all of those goals were delivered: Workshop integration arrived in November 2021, co-op was progressively improved, new outfits and weapons were added, and daily missions were introduced in December 2021. The last recorded update was on March 28, 2022, which added a level select menu and a few more outfits. Across 50 developer posts, 5 were major content updates and 12 were feature patches — all concentrated in a burst of activity between April 2021 and March 2022. There have been no developer communications of any kind since March 28, 2022, a silence of over four years. The developer's own launch post explicitly stated that rather than continuing to expand this game substantially, they intended to focus on making "a proper Bacon May Die sequel," framing this release as a complete (if modest) package. No DLC has been listed, no roadmap for future content was posted after early 2022, and no unreleased content appears in the store. The original planned features appear to have been fully delivered by the time updates ceased. The game shipped and was supported as a finished free-to-play title; development concluded organically in early 2022.
