Evaluation

Bai Qu: Hundreds of Melodies launched on July 27, 2017 as a complete visual novel. In the months following launch, the developer released a series of patches adding language support (Japanese in September 2017, Russian and Spanish in June 2018) and redrawing character sprites. Both paid DLC items — the official soundtrack and a digital artbook — shipped within two months of launch (July and September 2017 respectively). The game's post-launch update activity wound down substantially after 2018. The most recent developer communication on record is a January 11, 2021 post addressing a save file corruption bug introduced in version 1.17, which also constitutes the last known patch to the game. No content updates, announcements, or developer communications have appeared since that date. There are no unreleased DLC items in the store listing, no announced future content, and no developer roadmap pointing to additional updates. The two major content posts in the news history relate to the bundled Shan Gui content being spun off into its own definitive edition (May 2020) — a housekeeping change rather than new content for Bai Qu itself. The game shipped as a self-contained story-driven visual novel and all announced content has been delivered.
Evidence
Shan Gui content that had been bundled into Bai Qu was migrated out to its own Definitive Edition release; files to be removed from Bai Qu after 90 days.
