Basement spent several years in Early Access before launching as a fully completed game on November 10, 2019. The developer explicitly stated at launch: "I'm happy we've managed to finish the game." This was accompanied by a final content update (titled "The Final Fight") on October 6, 2019, which added the final story level, achievements, Steam cloud saves, and other polish — clearly framing it as the concluding content push before the full release. The developer's launch post noted they would continue fixing bugs, and subsequent posts confirm some bug-fix activity occurred, but no new story content, expansions, or DLC were announced or shipped after launch. The only DLC ever released is the original soundtrack (February 11, 2020), which is cosmetic/supplementary and not gameplay content. There have been no developer communications indicating plans for additional content, and the store description does not reference any upcoming updates. The game launched as a complete, finished product on November 10, 2019.
