Ratopia officially launched on May 1, 2025, after about a year and a half in Early Access. Since launch, Cassel Games has continued to ship substantial updates at a consistent pace. The developer published a roadmap on August 27, 2025 committing to two minor updates (September 2025 and January 2026, both delivered) and one major content update targeting Summer 2026. That Summer 2026 content update — the Tourism Update (version 1.0.0600) — shipped on July 22, 2026, introducing tourism systems, artifact content, mod support, and numerous quality-of-life improvements. This fulfills the outstanding commitment from the roadmap. As of today (August 26, 2026), no specific future content has been announced. However, the developer has maintained a strong pattern of major updates throughout the game's lifetime: the Scientist Update (March 2024), General Update (June 2024), Halloween Update (November 2024), Shaman Update (January 2025), the 1.0 launch update (May 2025), and the Tourism Update (July 2026). This establishes a sustained pattern of substantial content releases across the game's life. The developer has not announced the end of content development, and the store description continues to describe "more planned." The most recent major release was just one month ago, placing the game squarely within the active development window.
