Evaluation

Battleship Command entered Early Access on June 2, 2026, with the developer (Bracer) explicitly stating at launch that the game is not yet complete and has a roadmap of upcoming major features. This is an actively developed Early Access title. Since launch through July 31, 2026 — a span of just under two months — the developer has shipped an impressive number of updates. These include Steam Workshop support for custom missions (June 9), key binding customization (June 16), AI formation improvements (June 22), a save/load system along with free camera improvements (July 14), and a significant overhaul of damage control and engine management systems including hull patching, boiler/turbine maintenance, and fuel consumption modeling (July 28). The July 31 patch then tuned the balance of those new propulsion systems. Each update references further work in progress: the July 28 patch notes explicitly state "More updates and improvements to these systems will come later," and the key binding post mentions additional commands will be added over time. The developer is communicating actively, shipping multiple updates per month, and signaling that significant systems remain under development. This is a game in vigorous active development with a clear intent to continue expanding and completing it before a full release.

About this game

Battleship Command: Scharnhorst

Take command of a 30,000-ton Scharnhorst-class battleship in this immersive World War II naval simulation.

Explore the ship in first-person, walking its decks, bridges, and control rooms — all meticulously recreated from historical blueprints. Issue orders to your crew or take direct control of key stations, from gunnery and radar to navigation and damage control.

Hunt down merchant convoys, disrupt Allied supply lines, and clash with enemy warships across the stormy Atlantic, icy Norwegian Sea, and sunlit Mediterranean. Dynamic weather, sudden fog, and a full day–night cycle can hide you from your enemies — or conceal them from you.

Use authentic radar, rangefinders, and fire-control systems to track, target, and destroy your foes. Command an entire surface fleet of destroyers, cruisers, and battleships, coordinating maneuvers and tactics to outwit and overwhelm the enemy.
