BEAST: False Prophet

BEAST: False Prophet entered Steam Early Access on October 25, 2023, with False Prophet explicitly promising a full 1.0 release in 2024 and ongoing content updates. Two major content updates shipped in the first two months — Major Update #1 on November 23, 2023 and Major Update #2 on December 15, 2023 — bringing the game to a playable state with a complete ending. After that, development went silent. On February 18, 2025, studio founder Piotr Pacynko issued a public apology, revealing that the game had not been actively developed since roughly January 2024 (about three months after Early Access launch) due to the game selling far below financial expectations. The studio had attempted to attract publishers but failed. He updated the store description to clarify that development was not ongoing at that time. On March 13, 2025, a follow-up post revealed the team had been discouraged by a wave of negative reviews but found renewed motivation through community support. The post stated the team had "reunited" and intended to attempt further updates, though acknowledged uncertainty about timing and funding. A sale was announced to raise funds. On April 6, 2025, the studio announced a brand-new game — BANSHEE: Demon Girl — targeting Early Access in September 2025, indicating the studio's primary focus had shifted to a new project. On August 28, 2025, a bug fix patch was released enabling achievements. This is the most recent developer communication and shows the team remains minimally engaged, but it does not represent a return to meaningful content development. The game was launched as Early Access with clear promises of additional story missions, side content, more customization, and a full 1.0 release. Those commitments remain unfulfilled. The studio has publicly acknowledged being out of money, and while they've expressed a desire to finish the game, no concrete roadmap, funding solution, or content update has materialized beyond a minor bug fix. The simultaneous announcement and development of a new title raises further questions about resources available for BEAST.
