Evaluation

Beat Hazard 3 left Early Access and officially launched as version 1.0 on June 22, 2024. Since then, the solo developer (Steve at Cold Beam Games) has maintained an active update cadence across multiple areas. At launch, the developer stated that the PC version would continue to receive fixes, tweaks, and possibly new features — and that's exactly what has happened. Major free content updates have shipped since launch, including six new music tracks added on September 25, 2025, celebrating the game's PlayStation launch. Feature patches have continued into 2026, with widescreen/ultrawide screen support added on April 2, 2026, and stereo sound improvements via Open Mic on April 14, 2026. As recently as June 9, 2026, the developer posted about the game's participation in Steam's Bullet Fest event and remained engaged with the community. The developer has also been busy expanding the Beat Hazard universe to other platforms — a PlayStation version and a mobile title called Beat Hazard Arcade (launching July 7, 2026 on iOS and Android). Cross-platform work has historically fed improvements back into the PC version (as noted explicitly in the April 2025 patch notes). Back in May 2024, the developer mentioned having ideas for a DLC and a new Beat Hazard game in the future. No specific DLC has been announced or listed on the store, so this remains an informal aspiration rather than a confirmed commitment. There is no content that is officially announced but undelivered. However, the developer's continued active engagement — including feature updates as recently as April 2026 and community communication in June 2026 — indicates the game is not finished receiving attention.
