Between Me and The Night

Between Me and The Night launched into full release on January 22, 2016, after graduating from Early Access. A post-launch patch (v1.1) was released on January 29, 2016, addressing bugs and adding minor quality-of-life improvements. That was the last update the game received. In a candid post on February 25, 2019, the sole remaining developer behind the project — Karlos — explained what happened: the studio RainDance LX closed in 2016, the publisher relationship ended, and the team disbanded. He acknowledged that the game shipped with bugs and cut content, and that he had hoped to deliver future updates but was ultimately unable to do so. He lowered the price to make the game more accessible and expressed a personal hope to someday improve it, but made no concrete commitments or announced any plans. There have been no updates, announcements, or developer communications since February 25, 2019. The store page describes the game as a complete surrealist adventure with no mention of planned content. No DLC has ever been listed. The game is a finished, self-contained product — albeit one that shipped in a rougher state than the developer originally intended.
