Evaluation
BioShock originally launched on August 21, 2007 as a complete, self-contained single-player experience. On September 15, 2016, 2K released BioShock: The Collection — a remastered bundle covering all three BioShock games and bundling all single-player DLC ever produced for the series (Challenge Rooms, Museum of Orphaned Concepts, Minerva's Den, Protector Trials, and both Burial at Sea episodes for Infinite). The Collection was explicitly described as the complete package of all content across the franchise. Existing Steam owners of BioShock received the remaster as a free upgrade.
The most recent developer post (February 6, 2025) was a 2K anniversary sale announcement that celebrated the publisher's legacy catalog — it contained no hints of new BioShock content. No DLC has been announced or listed as unreleased. The game has no post-launch update pattern suggesting ongoing development. BioShock is a finished, classic title whose content cycle concluded with the remastered upgrade in September 2016.

About this game
BioShock is a shooter unlike any you've ever played, loaded with weapons and tactics never seen. You'll have a complete arsenal at your disposal from simple revolvers to grenade launchers and chemical throwers, but you'll also be forced to genetically modify your DNA to create an even more deadly weapon: you. Injectable plasmids give you super human powers: blast electrical currents into water to electrocute multiple enemies, or freeze them solid and obliterate them with the swing of a wrench.
No encounter ever plays out the same, and no two gamers will play the game the same way.

- Explore an incredible and unique art deco world hidden deep under the ocean.
