Evaluation

Bioweaver launched on November 15, 2024 and has maintained an active development cadence since. The developer shipped a major Organ Expansion Pack on February 26, 2025, adding 16 new organs across multiple categories. Prior to and following that, they published at least 15 feature patches (as summarized across the 49 scanned posts) adding new genes, mechanics, and gameplay systems — going well beyond simple maintenance. On February 28, 2025, the developer announced a Steam Workshop beta, noting that development had been underway for about four months but was delayed due to team changes and unresolved technical issues. This represents outstanding development work that had not yet shipped in full as of that announcement. The most recent developer communication is a bug fix patch on December 1, 2025. The gap between the last major content drop (February 26, 2025) and today (September 24, 2026) is approximately 19 months. With only one clearly tagged major content release in the post-launch record, establishing a precise cadence is difficult. However, the volume of feature patches (15 in total) indicates sustained, substantive engagement with the game well beyond maintenance. The Steam Workshop integration was explicitly described as incomplete in February 2025, with no subsequent post confirming it shipped — representing an outstanding development commitment. The developer also published a detailed post on May 6, 2025 addressing the delisting of their previous game Bioprototype, affirming that Bioweaver is a separate, actively maintained project with no indication of winding down. No developer statement has announced the conclusion of content development for Bioweaver.

About this game

In a mysterious underground laboratory, dangerous creatures have escaped. The road to the surface is blocked by many obstacles, but top scientists never complain about the environment. The organs and genes of unknown creatures can be your power. Make good use of them and create yourself a path of flesh and blood.

Use simple programming logic to build organ links. The skill building process is highly visualized and can be easily debugged.

The game includes hundreds of organs with different functions. Each organ can also be mutated to obtain additional affixes which can further generate more unpredictable changes.

The difficulty of the game can be automatically adjusted to the progress of the game. After completing the main acts, there are still more difficult challenges, more modes and content to explore.
