Black Hole Pool VR launched on August 2, 2022 and has received a steady stream of updates since then. The most significant content overhaul was the "5.0" update on May 28, 2023, which overhauled avatars, added the 10-Ball game type, redesigned the shop, introduced a new tutorial, and reworked the social rooms. Since that major update, the developer's activity has tapered to maintenance and compatibility work — most recently a PSVR2 crossplay patch on April 14, 2025.
