Evaluation
Blade Kitten originally launched (or rather re-launched under Krome Studios' control) on May 22, 2014. The game's post-launch content plan was straightforward: ship Episode 2, the long-awaited story expansion, along with supplemental DLC. All of that has been completed.
Episode 2 released on March 16, 2015, delivering five new levels, a final boss, new costumes, new blades, and full voice acting — concluding the game's story. One week later, on March 23, 2015, Krome released the Comic Pack (Dirty Angels) and Soundtrack + Remixes DLC, rounding out the content offering. The store page now markets the game as "The Hollow Wish Collection," describing it as a package containing the original game, the Episode 2 expansion, and a 164-page comic collection — language consistent with a complete, bundled product.
All three DLC entries in the store listing are marked as released, with no unreleased items. The last developer news post related to Blade Kitten content was on March 23, 2015. A March 2016 post from Krome mentioned Blade Kitten only in passing as context for a discount on a different game (TY the Tasmanian Tiger), with no indication of any further Blade Kitten content being planned. There have been no developer communications about future Blade Kitten updates since 2015, and the studio's focus has clearly moved on to other projects. The game launched as a story-driven action-adventure and that story has now been told in full.
