Blaster Master Zero 2 launched on November 29, 2019 and received three DLC packs: a crossover playable character from "Luminous Avenger iX" at launch, a second crossover character from "Dragon Marked For Death" on April 21, 2020, and a mini-game called Kanna Raising Simulator on June 29, 2020. All three DLC entries are released, and the June 2020 update was the last time the developer shipped anything for the game itself. No further DLC has been announced or listed on the store, and no developer communications since June 29, 2020 have indicated any additional content is planned for Blaster Master Zero 2. A March 17, 2026 news post from the developer references a Blaster Master Zero Series crossover in another game (Card-en-Ciel), but this is content added to a separate title — not new content for Blaster Master Zero 2 itself. The game appears to have concluded its content cycle with the June 2020 update.

Experience the yet-untold story of Jason and Eve after defeating Earth's mutant scourge in "Blaster Master Zero" as they venture into the depths of space in their new battle tank, "GAIA-SOPHIA"!
After eradicating the Mutant Core in the subterranean depths of planet Earth, Jason's partner Eve was infected by mutant parasites that have begun to slowly corrupt her body.
They now leave Earth behind and venture to Eve's home planet Sophia abroad G-SOPHIA in hopes of finding a cure.

When G-SOPHIA falls from great heights or takes damage, the Gaia System converts the impact energy to SP for G-SOPHIA's weapons and functions.
