Evaluation

Blood Typers launched on February 20, 2025 and has received a steady stream of substantial content updates ever since. Six major updates have shipped post-launch: The Scarlet Finale (April 18, 2025), Horde Mode Beta (August 20, 2025), Horde Mode Beta Part II (September 22, 2025), The Feasting Ghosts / Lotus City (October 24, 2025), the Yuletype localization update (December 20, 2025), and Rot Iron (February 6, 2026). These updates have added new levels, new game modes, new weapons, new monsters, new items, and full localization for multiple languages. Maintenance patches have continued beyond that, with the most recent bug fix arriving on April 30, 2026. This establishes a strong pattern of ongoing development at roughly 1–3 month intervals between major releases. We are currently approximately 4.5 months past the last major update (February 6, 2026), which is within the bounds of the developer's established release cadence. The developer has not announced that content development is concluding, and no specific future content has been named — but the sustained pattern of updates strongly suggests the game continues to receive active development work.

About this game

Blood Typers is a survival horror adventure played entirely with your keyboard. Blast zombies, manage your inventory, and work together to survive and escape.

In singleplayer or 1-4 player co-op, you find yourself trapped in a procedurally generated movie campus as it warps into a nightmare. Manage its limited resources right or you might not make it through the night…

TYPE TO KILL (OR RUN, OR GRAB, OR EASE OPEN…)

  • One-of-a-kind keyboard-based action gameplay.

  • Full combat, 3D movement and inventory management through on screen commands.

  • Target enemies to reveal their Hit Words AND FIGHT BACK.

  • Can you type fast enough? Typing challenges will put your words per minute to the test.

  • Beginner typist or typing fiend? Set the level of typing challenge to your preference with difficulty modes.

TIL DEATH DO YOU APART

  • Playing with your friends, or going fully solo? Either way, survival is just as horrifying.

  • Share resources, join forces against a pesky zombie, or cover each other’s backs with full online co-operative support.

  • Proximity-based VOIP will allow you to hear the screams of those with you… but not those afar.

AN HOMAGE TO HORROR

  • Locked doors, limited inventory space, and horrifying beings – this is old school survival horror.

  • Each level is a large, complex survival horror map, beckoning you to explore its secrets and unlock its treasures.

  • Make tough decisions for survival. Do you take the shotgun shells or the sandwich?

A NEVER-ENDING TYPEMARE

  • Explore huge procedurally generated levels, perfect to blast, cower and scavenge in.

  • Discover multiple different movie themes, each vaster than the last. The Studio is just the beginning.

  • Who locked you in? How do you make it stop?
