Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night launched on June 18, 2019 with a promise of 13 free post-launch DLCs, and the developers delivered on that commitment over the following years — adding playable characters (Zangetsu, Aurora, Bloodless), Classic Mode, a Kingdom: Two Crowns crossover area, Randomizer Mode, Chaos Mode, Versus Mode, and more.
On May 2, 2024, the developer published what they explicitly called "the final Development Roadmap for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night," announcing Update 1.5 (Chaos Mode, Versus Mode, cosmetic DLC packs) and the Classic II: Dominique's Curse premium DLC as the remaining planned content. The roadmap post stated clearly: "This will be the final update to the game."
Update 1.5 shipped on May 9, 2024, and Classic II: Dominique's Curse — the last piece of content described in that final roadmap — released on June 11, 2024. A subsequent bug-fix patch (Update 1.6) arrived on October 22, 2024 to address issues in Classic Mode and Classic II, but this was maintenance rather than new content.
All six DLC listings on the store are marked as released. The developer's own words confirm that development on Ritual of the Night is complete.
The June 2025 announcement of Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement — a brand-new, separate game in the franchise — confirms that the studio has moved on to a new project rather than continuing to update Ritual of the Night. That sequel has its own Steam page and is unrelated to the content status of this game.

Literally a metric ton of weapons and spells, which you can upgrade, level up and visually customize.
Beautiful 2.5D graphics: 3D models crafted with a lot of love and care on a 2D game environment. That means lots of cool tricks that "regular" 2D can't do...
