Blooming Nightshade

Blooming Nightshade is a free-to-play visual novel that released on September 6, 2019. The game itself is a complete story experience featuring 6 love interests, friendship and romance paths, and afterstories for each character. In a developer update posted on December 23, 2025 [NEWS-1], the developer (Nightshade) explicitly confirmed that Blooming Nightshade will receive a minor UI update based on a related project. The developer noted they are postponing this update until the final planned story for Flowering Nightshade (the sequel) is finished, at which point they intend to release UI updates for both games at the same time. The post closes by expressing hope to have the update finished in 2026. As of today (October 8, 2026), the developer has not posted any follow-up confirming that this update has shipped. The December 2025 post is the last communication that specifically addresses Blooming Nightshade, and the commitment to deliver a UI update for this game remains the most recent statement on the matter. Since that commitment has not been walked back or superseded by a post announcing its completion, the planned update is still outstanding.
