Evaluation

Bombing Bastards launched on December 4, 2014 as a complete arcade game with 30 mazes, 5 boss levels, and local/LAN/WAN multiplayer. The developer shipped a handful of updates in the months following launch — Mac and Linux support on January 29, 2015 and configurable controls on January 27, 2015 — but activity tapered off quickly. On July 5, 2018, the developer posted an explicit status update acknowledging that the game had entered its "long tail" and that WAN online multiplayer had broken due to server issues. Rather than fix it, they removed all references to WAN multiplayer from the store page and advised potential buyers not to purchase if online play was their expectation. This statement effectively confirmed that active development on the game had concluded. There have been no developer communications of any kind since July 5, 2018. The game remains purchasable on Steam in its final state, with local and LAN multiplayer as its remaining multiplayer options.
Evidence
Developer explicitly stated the game is 'way into its long tail' and that they lack the resources to fix broken WAN multiplayer. They edited the store page to remove WAN references. This is the last official communication from the developer.
