Broforce launched on October 15, 2015 and received numerous content updates over the years, adding new characters, enemies, levels, and game modes. The developer, Free Lives, explicitly announced on July 28, 2023 that the upcoming "Broforce Forever" update would be "the final update" for the game. That update shipped on August 8, 2023, adding six new bros, new challenge levels, new enemies, and various improvements. In the launch post for Broforce Forever, the developer reiterated their gratitude to the community and framed the release as a definitive conclusion — noting the physical edition was intentionally held back to represent "the definitive and final version of the game." A hotfix was issued on December 21, 2023 to address a handful of bugs, which is standard post-release maintenance. The developer's most recent news post (July 12, 2024) announced the launch of their next game, Anger Foot, with no mention of any further Broforce content. The only DLC ever listed is the soundtrack, which released alongside the game in 2015. Development of Broforce is complete.
