Evaluation

Boundel: The Second Era launched on November 14, 2016 and received a flurry of patches and updates through early 2017. The most significant of these was "The Second Era" content overhaul, which shipped on February 28, 2017, adding guilds, crafting, a global trading market, and a new UI. On August 11, 2017, the developer posted a notable update: the public server had been shut down, and they planned to release a new client with a built-in local server within two weeks, alongside new content. However, that promised follow-up update never arrived with any confirmed post. The last recorded developer communication was a small bug fix on January 3, 2018 — a technical patch to allow the local server to connect to Steam directly after the boundel.com domain went down. Since January 3, 2018, there has been no further developer communication of any kind. The store page notes "no in-app purchases, all updates will be free," but this appears to reflect the original intent rather than an active ongoing commitment. The developer's own website (boundel.com) has gone offline. All DLC (a soundtrack released February 28, 2017) has shipped. There are no unreleased DLC entries and no announced future content. Given the complete silence since January 3, 2018 — over eight years with no posts, patches, or announcements — and the fact that the developer's website is defunct, the game appears to have reached the end of its development lifecycle. The one-person developer has not indicated any future plans, and all previously announced content either shipped or was quietly abandoned after the August 2017 server shutdown post.
Evidence
Last developer communication: a small bug fix to allow the local server to connect to Steam directly, noting that boundel.com was down. No further posts followed.
