Bounty of One

Bounty of One graduated from Early Access to its full 1.0 release on September 8, 2023. Since then, OptizOnion has continued to ship content for the game on an irregular but sustained basis: a paid DLC ("Panic in the Mines") launched on June 21, 2024, adding a new game mode, three new characters, 30 new objects, and 17 new achievements. A free character update (Ernesto) was also added simultaneously. On September 27, 2024, four new gameplay items were added alongside balance changes. Most recently, on March 10, 2026, the developer introduced a new free playable character, Mitchel, as a thank-you to the community on the occasion of launching their new game, Hive Blight. That March 10, 2026 post is the most recent developer communication. It is warm and appreciative in tone, and while it does not promise specific future Bounty of One content, it also makes no statement that development is finished. The studio's shift of focus toward Hive Blight (now in Early Access as of March 9, 2026) may reduce the frequency of Bounty of One updates, but the developer has demonstrated a clear habit of returning to the game with free additions. The gap between the September 2024 item patch and the March 2026 Mitchel update is approximately 17 months — and as of October 1, 2026, it has been approximately 6.5 months since that last update. Looking at the post-1.0 major content pattern: June 2024 DLC, September 2024 feature patch, March 2026 free character. The intervals are long and irregular (roughly 9 months, then 17 months). At 6.5 months since the last release, we are not clearly beyond this irregular cadence window. Crucially, the developer has never stated that Bounty of One is complete or that no further updates are planned. Given the sustained pattern of returning with free additions and the absence of any closure statement, the game continues to receive meaningful updates.
