Evaluation

Britannic: Patroness of the Mediterranean launched on June 19, 2020 as a self-contained virtual museum experience. The developer shipped a series of bug fix and feature patches in the weeks following launch, addressing collision issues, UI problems, performance, and platform compatibility. A development status post on July 23, 2020 outlined what remaining work was planned: a UI overhaul and bug fixes. The developer explicitly stated at that time that "once these two main issues are addressed, that should be it in terms of any major updates needing for the desktop versions," and noted that interior modelers were occupied with a separate Titanic project with no timeline for adding new spaces to Britannic. Those outstanding items — the UI overhaul and bug fixes — were delivered in the October 29, 2020 and November 2, 2020 updates (builds 1.2.3 and 1.2.8). No developer communications have occurred since November 2, 2020, and no further content or updates have been announced. The game appears to have reached the state the developer described as complete for the desktop versions, with the final update shipping on November 2, 2020.
Evidence
Build 1.2.8 resolved remaining issues introduced by the engine migration (lighting, collision, UI elements). This is the last developer communication on record.

About this game

Step aboard the HMHS Britannic, the third ship in the Olympic Class trio, who, like her older sister the Titanic, was cheated of a promising career. This ship has never been properly recreated before, and no one has seen her in this state since she sailed the Mediterranean. Now, as the result of extensive research by our team and leading Britannic historians, you can explore her and learn about her like never before.

BRITANNIC: PATRONESS OF THE MEDITERRANEAN is a virtual museum-like experience, where the user can explore the ship at their own pace and discover details about its story, architecture, and contributions to the First World War. This is primarily a learning environment, packed full of history.
