Broken Sword 2 - the Smoking Mirror: Remastered is a classic adventure game that originally launched on Steam in December 2009. Since then, Revolution Software has continued to maintain and improve the game over the years. The most notable post-launch update arrived on September 14, 2022, bringing widescreen display improvements, Steam Achievements (27 in total), a significant file size reduction (~40%), a refreshed menu and UI, cloud saves with cross-platform support, and full Steam Deck compatibility. This was a substantial quality-of-life overhaul rather than new story content. On March 10, 2017, to celebrate the franchise's 20th anniversary, Revolution added the original unmastered version of the game as free DLC — the only DLC listed for this title — which has since been released. At the close of the September 2022 update post, the developer noted they were "already eagerly working on Broken Sword 1" as the next project to receive a similar treatment. This comment refers to work on a different game in the series, not additional content for Broken Sword 2 specifically. All DLC has shipped, no future content for this title has been announced, and the last developer communication specific to this game was the September 2022 update. The game is a complete, self-contained package.
