Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake launched on February 28, 2024 as a faithful remake of the 2013 original, with a re-recorded orchestral soundtrack and updated graphics and gameplay. The only DLC — the official soundtrack — was released on the same day as the game itself.
Following launch, the developer shipped two post-launch patches in March and April 2024: Update #1 (March 21, 2024) addressed hardware auto-detection, accessibility options, and physics bugs, and Update #2 (April 19, 2024) brought Steam Deck optimizations and further performance improvements. The March update included a note that "more is to come," but no specific content was ever announced, and no further updates have been posted since April 19, 2024.
This is a self-contained remake of a narrative adventure game — not a live-service title and not a game with a history of expansions. The post-launch patches addressed polish and compatibility concerns rather than new content. With no unreleased DLC, no announced future content, no active update cadence, and no developer communications since April 2024, the game appears to have reached its final state. The "more to come" comment from March 2024 was plausibly fulfilled by the April 2024 performance patch that followed shortly after.
