Cactus Cowboy - Plants at War

Cactus Cowboy - Plants at War launched on Steam on May 3, 2022 as a free-to-play VR shooter. Since launch, the developer has delivered quality-of-life patches and a major graphics remaster update (December 29, 2022), keeping the game polished. The developer's focus has since shifted to the sequel, Cactus Cowboy - Desert Warfare, which launched in late 2023. As of March 15–16, 2024, the developer ported several Desert Warfare features back to Plants at War via a QoL patch — the last known update to this game. That same post noted that "the first groundwork for the next Cactus Cowboy game has already begun," signaling that the studio's attention has moved further along the series. Plants at War has received no announced future content of its own. The developer's March 2024 communication treated it as a maintained legacy title rather than one receiving new content — improvements were backported from the sequel rather than original content being developed.
