Cally's Trials launched on June 14, 2016 as a self-contained roguelike action-platformer. The only DLC ever released — the game's soundtrack — shipped on the same day as the game itself. Developer communications after launch focused entirely on other games in the Cally's series: a December 2016 post announced work on Cally's Caves 4 (which released in January 2018), and a September 2018 post announced Skater Cally. Neither of these posts mentioned new content for Cally's Trials. The last developer communication that referenced Cally's Trials at all was the December 24, 2016 sale announcement. The store description describes a fixed, complete content package — 110 levels, 6 bosses, 12 weapon classes — with no mention of post-launch additions. The developer has moved on to other projects, and Cally's Trials launched and remains a finished, complete product.

Set before the events of Cally's Caves 3, Cally's Trials is a roguelike action-platformer with a weapon-levelling system that lets you evolve weapons as you use them. Cally must save her parents from the maniacal Herbert, who has laid waste to the Caves and built a massive lair deep inside.
Herbert's experiments have twisted the caves into a living nightmare, and our plucky six-year-old heroine must overcome staggering odds:
