Car Mechanic Simulator 2014 launched on January 24, 2014. During its active development window, it received two free expansion packs: the 4x4 Expansion Pack (April 28, 2014) and the 1/4 Mile Expansion Pack (released later in 2014 as announced). The developer's February 3, 2015 post explicitly referenced a "Car Mechanic Simulator 2014 Complete Edition with 2 free DLCs" as already delivered, signaling that the planned content for this game had been fully shipped. Development focus then moved to Car Mechanic Simulator 2015, which launched on April 23, 2015. A later 2020 post announcing a VR title was promoting a separate, standalone product — not new content for this game. No further content has been released or announced for CMS 2014 in over a decade. The game is complete as originally shipped, with all announced DLC delivered.

Once installed, new parts appear in the garage shop including front and rear axles, drive shafts, special off-road shock absorbers and a rear muffler. The new vehicle is also available in endless mode.
