Carrier Command 2 launched on August 10, 2021 and has received a consistent stream of substantial updates ever since. The developer shipped five major named updates in the first two years post-launch: Major Update 1 (November 15, 2021), Major Update 2 (February 21, 2022), Major Update 3 (May 23, 2022), Major Update 4 (September 29, 2022), and Major Update 5 (March 17, 2023). Beyond these, the game has continued to receive regular feature patches through 2024 and into 2025–2026, covering aerial refueling systems, PvP rebalancing, server telemetry tools, modding expansions, and VR fixes. The most recent update was a hotfix on January 5, 2026. Notably, in the October 2025 server telemetry update (v1.5.13), the developers explicitly stated they "have many more changes planned, largely with a focus on balance," confirming continued development intent. The only DLC on the store is the soundtrack, released at launch — there is no paid content expansion pipeline, but the game has been receiving substantial free updates at a sustained pace.
