Evaluation

Catlateral Damage launched on May 27, 2015 and received a series of content updates through its first year: new levels, gameplay features, Japanese localization, and a VR mode (May 27, 2016). The VR DLC, released as free content on the game's one-year anniversary, was the last major addition to the original game. The developer's attention then shifted to a successor product. In June 2020, Manekoware announced Catlateral Damage: Remeowstered — a ground-up remake described as the "definitive edition" of the game — which launched on September 15, 2021. This remake is a separate Steam product and represents the culmination of the original game's content arc. Both DLC items in the store listing are released: the Official Soundtrack (June 11, 2015) and the VR mode (May 16, 2016). No unreleased DLC is listed. The developer has made no announcements of additional content for the original game since the Remeowstered release in September 2021. The original Catlateral Damage is a complete, finished product.

About this game

Catlateral Damage is a first-person destructive cat simulator where you play as a cat on a rampage, knocking as much stuff onto the ground as possible. See the world through the eyes of a cat! Like other first-person games, you can walk and look around, jump, and crouch. Unlike other first-person games, your primary weapons are your two cat paws, which you can use to swipe at and knock objects onto the floor.

  • Play from the perspective of a crazy domestic house cat.
  • Destroy precious collectibles and expensive electronics with your little paws.
  • Make a mess of every room in the house, from the bedroom to the kitchen.
  • Procedurally-generated houses for endless replayability.
  • Loads of collectibles, unlockable cats, and power-ups.
  • Over 230 photos of real-life cats to find and collect.

Epilepsy warning: Some in-game effects may be problematic for some players. These can be disabled in the “Options” menu on the title screen or in-game.
