Evaluation
Chaos Galaxy is a solo-developed retro-style turn-based strategy game that launched on June 16, 2020. After release, the developer shipped a steady stream of feature updates through mid-2020, adding new flagships, trading cards, a Space Lane system, and dozens of bug fixes and balance improvements.
On September 28, 2020, the developer posted a detailed retrospective explaining that the game had reached its "Complete Version" goals, while acknowledging certain features (mod support, alien factions, deeper planetary management) were left out. That same post announced a sequel — Chaos Galaxy 2 — was in development, with the developer explicitly stating they wanted to spend ten years building the Chaos Galaxy series.
On August 1, 2021, the developer released version 1.20 — adding controller support and further balance tweaks — and stated directly: "It may be the last update of Chaos Galaxy." The post went on to announce that Chaos Galaxy 2's demo was coming in late September 2021, with Early Access to follow. This is the clearest developer statement about the conclusion of Chaos Galaxy's update cycle.
Since August 1, 2021, all developer activity has shifted to the sequel. A news post on February 27, 2024 announced an additional new game in the series, "Chaos Front," confirming the developer remains active but focused on new projects rather than the original Chaos Galaxy.
The game launched as a complete product, received several months of meaningful post-launch updates, and the developer explicitly flagged version 1.20 as likely the final update. No unreleased DLC exists, and no further content has been announced for Chaos Galaxy itself.

About this game
Welcome to join Chaos Galaxy on Discord :
Chaos Galaxy is a retro-style turn-based grand strategy game that pays homage to many strategic games on the game console platform of 1995-2005, Such as Advance War, Super Robot War, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, etc.

The program, art, and design of Chaos Galaxy are all completed by one developer alone.

In Chaos Galaxy, you can choose the 4 major fleets of the Galactic Empire, or another one in the 14 factions, such as pirates, mercenaries, trader guilds, orders, assassins, and the disasters of AI. Each faction has a completely different background story, characteristic arms, and faction policy tree.

There are more than 100 kinds of mecha and warships, dozens of weapons and dozens of unit skills in the game. More than 60 commanders with their own unique skills and story set came on the stage.
The future of the galaxy is up to you. You can revive the Empire or overthrow it, to establish a church rule, or to play the AI to destroy mankind.

The great Galactic Empire, which had ruled the galaxy for one thousand years, collapsed under the sudden impact of aliens and fell into disputes and civil war. Many heroes, with their own purposes, set foot on the road of conquering the three thousand worlds of the galaxy.
In the background of this chaotic war, a greater crisis of galaxy destruction is about to come.
"For the surviving of human beings, please die with the one billion people on this planet."
—— attributed to Lord Wenchang, the notorious Imperial War Minister
The game demo is now available for download. You can choose the Northsky Fleet to fight against their old enemy, the Emishi Pirates!
