Chasm

Chasm launched on July 30, 2018 and has been continuously updated ever since. Two named major content additions have shipped post-launch: the Guildean Arcade Pack and the Race Mode update (October 15, 2021). Beyond those, Bit Kid has maintained a steady stream of feature patches — adding new display effects, engine modernizations, audio improvements, new visual filters, speedrun timers, and Arcade mode tweaks throughout the years. In September 2024, after a months-long quiet period, Bit Kid addressed community concern directly, writing: "Did Bit Kid finally throw in the towel after six long years of support? Heck no! In fact, it's the opposite." They explained they had been migrating the engine from the deprecated XNA framework to FNA and SDL3 to support long-term multi-project development. In December 2024, the studio confirmed their next game, WOLFHOUND, is actively in development, and noted they have been back-porting improvements from WOLFHOUND's engine to Chasm as they go — meaning the two projects are actively feeding each other. Updates have continued throughout 2025 and into 2026, with the most recent feature patch released on June 17, 2026. No final update has been announced, and the developer's ongoing engine work and explicit statements confirm the game continues to receive active attention.
