Chill Town

Chill Town launched its full Version 1.0 on May 13, 2025, graduating from Early Access after roughly 14 months of EA development. The 1.0 release was a substantial update that added a museum system, seasonal festivals, new questlines, redesigned NPCs and islands, and a large number of other improvements — fulfilling the roadmap goals the developer had outlined during Early Access. However, the studio's financial situation has been precarious throughout development. In December 2024, the developer publicly disclosed that the team had shrunk from 8 people to just 2 developers, that revenue was only covering basic living expenses, and that they had been using personal funds to sustain operations. Then in January 2026, they announced they could no longer afford their existing server infrastructure and were migrating to a cheaper provider — explicitly stating that "most of the games in our ecosystem no longer generate revenue, or their revenue is below the level needed to cover ongoing server maintenance." The server migration was confirmed complete on February 10, 2026, which is the last official communication from the developer. As of June 22, 2026 — over four months later — there have been no further posts, patches, or announcements of any kind. Given the serious financial difficulties the studio has openly described, the dramatic team reduction, and this extended period of silence following what reads like a cost-cutting measure, it is genuinely uncertain whether the game will continue to receive updates or ongoing support. The game appears to be functioning and is still purchasable, but its future development status is unclear.
