Russian Village Simulator launched on September 25, 2023 and received a series of post-launch updates throughout its first year. The developer shipped a large content update in December 2023 (adding new districts, a mansion, and 22 new quests), followed by another major update in April 2024 adding 13 new quests and a wedding storyline (which the developer described as completing the main plot). A further feature patch arrived on November 6, 2024, adding 20 new achievements, expanded animal mechanics, and mansion improvements.
However, the developer has been progressively shifting their focus to successor projects. As early as August 2024, they confirmed the main story of Russian Village Simulator was complete (ending with the wedding quest) and that further story development would happen in a new game. The November 2024 patch post explicitly stated "RVS1 - Will be improved as we can in the future" — language indicating best-effort maintenance rather than planned content. Their development energy has since moved to two new games: Russian Village Simulator on Mars (released into Early Access in March 2025, then fully released April 29, 2025) and Russian Village Simulator 2 (released May 27, 2025), plus a third title called DACHA (released September 16, 2025).
The developer has not announced any specific future content for the original Russian Village Simulator since the November 2024 patch. The one released DLC is a music pack (launched September 27, 2023) with no unreleased DLC on the store. The cadence of major updates has ended — the last substantive patch was November 6, 2024, and with three follow-up games now shipped, the studio's attention has clearly moved on. The game launched as a complete product and received meaningful post-launch improvements, but development of new content for this title appears to have concluded.
