Evaluation

Chorus of Carcosa launched on Steam on March 20, 2025 as a complete, self-contained psychological horror experience of roughly 2–3 hours. The pre-launch FAQ (March 14, 2025) explicitly stated that no major content updates were planned — only hotfixes and patches — and confirmed it would not launch in Early Access. Following launch, the developer was active with patches: a QoL update on March 21, a movement and stamina overhaul on March 24, and an Extended Ending update on March 27 (which added new content to the game's conclusion), followed by a bug-fix patch on April 4. This early flurry of post-launch work is consistent with a small studio polishing a shipped product. The most significant development came on November 11, 2025, when Chameleon 42, in partnership with Contrast Games, announced that Chorus of Carcosa is coming to consoles — with improved performance, full controller support, and optimized visuals. This is the last known communication from the developer and represents active ongoing work on the game. The only DLC currently on the store is a Digital Artbook released on launch day (March 20, 2025), with no unreleased DLC listed. Because a console release has been announced but no release date or further details have been shared since November 11, 2025, the game's development is ongoing in preparation for that platform launch.

About this game

Chorus of Carcosa is a psychological horror game inspired by the classic horror fiction of 'The King in Yellow' collection by R. W. Chambers. You play as a sculptor who is forced to abandon his place of comfort one night, when a blood-soaked neighbor knocks on his door.

KEY FEATURES

  • Around two-three hours of classic horror thriller gameplay

  • Endless tension — finding a way out is no easy task

  • Simple stealth mechanics — try to remain unnoticed when there’s no place to hide

  • Immersive graphics and high-quality 3D sound powered by Unreal Engine 5

  • Carefully written, directed, and voiced by professional actors

Experience the fear of facing the unknown

Survive an ever-changing decrepit apartment building filled with dangers and mysteries... Without making a sound! Or THEY will hear you…

Solve the mystery of an alternate reality

A twisted realm fills the space around you. Are all of these changes real? Or are they just nightmarish hallucinations?

You can flee, but escape is an illusion

They have found you and there's no turning back now. Perhaps, it’s sometimes wiser to embrace the surrounding madness and stare right back into its eyes.
