Amnesia: The Dark Descent launched on September 8, 2010 as a complete, standalone horror experience. Over the years, Frictional Games has periodically revisited the game with quality-of-life and feature updates rather than story expansions: a Hard Mode was added in October 2018, Steam Workshop mod support was enabled in June 2023, and Total Conversion support for the Workshop was added in October 2023 — the most recent update to the game itself.
There are no unreleased DLC entries, no announced future content for this specific title, and no developer statements indicating further updates are planned. The November 2025 announcement of "Amnesia: Design Works" is a physical/digital art book celebrating the entire Amnesia series, not game content for The Dark Descent. The broader Amnesia franchise continues with new entries (Amnesia: The Bunker launched in June 2023), but the original game has functioned as a finished product since launch, with only supplementary feature patches over its lifetime.
The game is complete. The October 2023 Total Conversion Workshop update represents the last known content addition, and no further updates have been communicated.
