Chroma Blast

The developer, William Cheek, made his intentions for Chroma Blast very clear in an honest post on July 16, 2017 — just days after the Steam launch. He stated that he had been finished with the game for over a year at that point, that no content patches were planned, and that he was fully focused on his next project. He acknowledged known issues (mouse controls, leaderboard cheating) but was transparent that he could not continue maintaining the game. A follow-up post on June 7, 2018 delivered one final surprise update to address serious Windows 10 compatibility issues and add a Linux version, explicitly stating "If this update works on windows 10 and Linux there will very likely be no more updates, so don't expect any content patches." That June 2018 patch represents the last known developer activity on Chroma Blast. A December 2024 announcement from the developer was for an entirely separate new game, Death of Eternity, further confirming that his development focus moved on long ago. Chroma Blast launched and was completed as a self-contained twin-stick shooter with no post-launch content cycle.
