Veterans Online - Open Beta

Veterans Online launched on Steam on May 22, 2020 as a free-to-play top-down PvP shooter. The game is structured as a live service, featuring daily and weekly missions, rotating event content, leaderboard-based rewards, cosmetic customization, and Twitch integration — all indicators of a game designed for ongoing operation rather than a one-time release. Shortly after launch, on July 20, 2020, the developer posted a development update announcing a significant content update targeting Late September 2020, including a new map, reworked networking, improved matchmaking, and new customization assets. They also promised a full roadmap to be published in October 2020 detailing their long-term vision for the game. Neither the promised September 2020 update (in terms of any follow-up post announcing its release) nor the October 2020 roadmap were ever posted. The July 20, 2020 post is the last known communication from the developer. As of June 27, 2026 — nearly six years later — there have been no further news posts, patch notes, or announcements of any kind. All three DLC items listed on the store were released at launch (May–June 2020) and appear to be cosmetic or founder packs rather than content expansions. No unreleased DLC exists in the listing. The game technically remains purchasable (it is free-to-play), but the complete absence of developer communication since July 2020, combined with undelivered promises from that final post, raises serious questions about whether the game's servers are still actively maintained or whether it continues to receive any meaningful support.
