Circadian City entered Steam Early Access on October 1, 2020. The game received a series of updates through its early access period: a feature patch in November 2020, a version 0.5 update in December 2020, a major version 0.6 update in February 2021, and a significant v0.8 UI overhaul in December 2021 (which was briefly rolled back to the v0.6 branch in January 2022 due to stability issues).
On June 3, 2022, the developer published a post acknowledging an extended silence and explaining it was caused by team departures and a key developer's health crisis. They confirmed that development had not been abandoned, that new team members had been hired, and that version 0.8 was being targeted for release on August 18, 2022. They also outlined plans for version 1.0, which is to include a new Dreamworld island, an underworld area, a story conclusion, adoptable animals, and new professions.
However, August 18, 2022 came and went with no update post, no patch notes, and no communication of any kind. As of June 26, 2026, the developer has been completely silent since June 3, 2022 — over four years. The game still carries its Early Access label, and the promised 1.0 content has not been delivered or addressed publicly. While the June 2022 post resolved prior concerns about abandonment at the time, the subsequent prolonged silence after a missed milestone has returned the game to an uncertain development state.

Unlike the Realworld, you have somewhat of a playground here to take a breath. You can dream of being a farmer, rancher, miner or an ambitious gamer. Only in your dreams.

We intend to keep Circadian City a long time in Early Access and we have crazy ideas for the game. But we know that you have even more crazy ideas and we want you to bring them in. We believe we created a fun playground and the architecture of the game is very scalable, therefore it allows tons of new content and features.
We are together in this adventure. Welcome aboard! Let's make this the game of your dreams. If you want to mod, you can tailor the game to your needs (no violence in any form) and we will support you. If you want us to add a new feature, let's talk about it and see if it fits.

A LITTLE WARNING
Currently the game does not support mouse control. You can only play the game with a keyboard or a gamepad. This creates a little discomfort for keyboard+mouse players and we are working on this feature. If this is a must have feature for you, you can wait a bit more to purchase the game.
